Guest Pup Post: Uncle Spike

My first guest pup post is my Uncle Spike!

Take it away old pal...

I am Moose's, "Uncle" Spike. I am 16 years old and I move a little slower these days then in my younger years. I am a Black Labrador Retriever. Back when I was born I was the runt of my litter when my family found me out on the soccer field. I was the perfect addition to their family.

Years down the road my sister brought home Moose. Boy, is Moose a frisky pup with lots of energy! He's super tough for me to keep up with in my old age so I typically just lay on my nest when he comes to visit. Moose will try to play with me and run by me with his speedy little legs. Once in awhile, I like to get involved in the action and will try to intimidate him but really I'm just giving him a hard time.

Moose can be feisty about his bones but every now and then he will leave some behind for me to enjoy until his next visit. I really enjoy watching him chase the leaves outside or dig the squeaker out of one of my old toys. I don't have enough energy to do it myself anymore so that makes watching Moose fun.

I'll turn 17 in August and can't wait to celebrate with my family, Moose included. Last year Moose introduced me to "Frosty Paws" for my birthday and boy was it delicious. I hope he remembers this old man again this year.

Thanks for letting me be your first guest post Moose- I am quite honored and hope all of your friends will enjoy meeting your old uncle.

Thanks for stopping by Uncle Spike!

He's a pretty great guy. My favorite thing to do is sit next to him and chew our toys together. I appreciate how he puts up with my puppy spirit and hope I don't annoy him too much!

Thanks for meeting my Uncle!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my Friday Favorites!!

My New Toy Crate

Happy Moose Monday!!

Today I'm sharing my brand new toy crate that Mom and Dad made for me last week. It is the perfect spot for all of my toys to go at the end of each day.

First, we found the crate at IKEA for only $10!
KNAGGLIG Box IKEA Perfect for storing larger things like gardening tools, as the crate is sturdy.
KNAGGIL Box 18 x 12 for $9.99 at IKEA

It was pretty quick for Dad to assemble and the perfect size to fit all of my toys.

Once it was assembled, Mom got to work painting the letters that would go on it.
She got them at Michael's Arts and Craft Store for $1 each.

We played outside while they dried and then it was time to hot glue them onto the crate.

Once they were all dried and on there, we were able to finish filling the crate with all of my toys from around the house.
I helped Mom gather them all together and put them in.

Mom was quickly able to snap a few pictures before I curiously started digging through to find the perfect toy to play with!

Now I know exactly where to go when I'm looking for my favorite toys to play with.
I think it's a great addition to our home!

Have a great week!
Be sure to stop by on Thursday for my first Guest Pup post! I can't wait for you to see who it is!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Friends!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy my favorites for this week.

ONE

Watching the world go by out the front door.
I would sit here all day if my humans let me. I just love to know what's going on around our town and what better way to do that then from the comfort of my home.

TWO

These delicious wholesome snacks!
They are a home-style recipe that is both good for me and delicious. They come in all kinds of flavors, too. Chicken and Steak are my favorites. I'm looking forward to trying Sweet Potato soon.

THREE

Springtime is here which means lots of walks for me.
They are definitely one of my favorite parts of the day. The sun shining, a nice bit of exercise, seeing what's going on around town...I mean what more could you want on a beautiful Spring day?!

FOUR

Nylabone Bacon Cheeseburger Flavor Dog Toy
Flavored Nylabones. Yum!
I have quite a few of these and they're great because they won't harm my stomach like rawhide sometimes can. This one pictured is my favorite--it's cheeseburger flavored.

FIVE

Gardening.
Springtime also means that I get to spend time helping my mom dig in her garden. I don't think she always appreciates my help but I'm just trying to make it easier on her! These dirty paws sometimes give away my secret that I'm helping while she isn't looking.

Have a great weekend!

Come back for my Moose Monday post. I'll be sharing another favorite of mine--my new toy crate.

Life Lately: Dad Time and Spring is Finally Here Edition

Happy Moose Monday!!

This past week was packed with daily adventures and enjoying the beautiful weather outside.
Which meant for me...lots of walks!! My favorite.

Mom was away at the beginning of the week which called for bonding time with Dad.

Boy, do I love my Dad. He's the best.

We did all fun "guy" stuff while Mom was away.

Smoked some cigars
Ate snacks on the couch while we caught up on our TV shows

Played fetch outside

We tried out some of my birthday gifts...like my rocking socks and singing birthday cake.

Then, before I knew it...Mom was home!

We ran some errands, got some Starbucks and a new lobster toy.

While Mom and Dad made dinner and cleaned the house a little, I went to work burying one of my favorite bones.

And then I pretended like nothing happened...so they have no idea where it is!

Wednesday night, it was time for some snuggles with my monkey after three busy days.

Hanging with Mom and Dad can be tiring

I spent a lot of time this week in my favorite spot by the door...watching the world go by.

Excuse the dirty door.
Mom keeps cleaning it and I keep messing it up again.

On Friday, Aunt Katy came to visit!
I told her all about my latest adventures and she even shared her water with me.

The weather this week was perfect which meant a week of long walks for me!
I walked with Uncle Tom, Aunt Katy and Mom.

What a great week of walks!
On Saturday morning, we walked to our favorite Coffee Shop.
Mom got her tea and I got treats and water. I sure do love that place!

On Saturday night, Mom and Dad were away for the night and I got to sleepover at Gigi's house!
Oh boy do I love hanging with my Gigi, Uncle Jim and Uncle Drew.

Boy did they tire me out. We went for Gator Rides, long walks, and played video games.

Sunday called for lots of snuggles and resting after my long week.
I did get a special treat from Shake Shack. And it was delicious!

This picture sums up how I feel about my great week!

How was your week?

Come back and see me soon!
