My bones and Octopus!
This is the only one who has survived my constant biting

Friday Favorites: Long Weekend at Gigi's

Happy First Fall Friday!!

Fall has arrived and it's a beautiful Friday!

Get outside this weekend and enjoy it :)
But first, here are my favorites for the week...

ONE

It's back to Gigi's for a long weekend this time!
Mom has a conference for work next week and because Pope Francis is making a visit to Philly, we all decided to head out of town before the weekend to beat all of the crowds and traffic.

Mom captured one last look of an empty Benjamin Franklin Parkway before it is mobbed with people...
the calm before the crowds!

So while Mom and Dad are traveling, I'm hanging with Gigi, Uncle Jim and Uncle Drew.

Mom and I took one last selfie before we dropped her to the airport yesterday...
and then it was off to fun time with some of my FAVORITE pals!

TWO

Target did it again...
they released an awesome new line of Boots and Barkley toys and pet accessories!!

Some of the ones I'm looking forward to trying out are...
Boots & Barkley™ Football Pet Toy - Grey Plaid

Plaid Fixed Collar
Perhaps, this plaid collar to add to my collection

Boots & Barkley® Fixed Collar-Grey Plaid-sherpa lining
OR this one that looks so warm and cozy!

Boots & Barkley™ Plaid Squirrel Pet Toy
And possibly this little squirrel friend!

The entire collection is PLAID for Fall and definitely a FAVORITE of mine (and Mom's)

THREE

Did you see this Dog Train Video?
It is definitely a FAVORITE this week and I'm hoping Dad gets an idea of a DIY project for me and my neighborhood pup friends ;)

Just look how much fun those pups are having!
That could be us!

FOUR

FALL is here officially.
Fall is our household's FAVORITE season!
Time to get to work on my Fall Bucket List!

I'm tired already just thinking of all the fun we are going to have...
But boy oh boy, I can't wait!

FIVE

Speaking of bucket lists, remember how we were looking for a 5K and festival over the Summer?
Better late than never- we found one for the Fall!
We will be doing this one in the coming weeks--if you are local, you should check it out.
It's FREE and will definitely be a FAVORITE day for you and your pup!

And an extra favorite for a shout out to my friend Olive's Mommy...it's her birthday today!
Happy Birthday Aunt Katie!
We love you and hope you enjoy your day!

That's a wrap for this week!
Stop back on Monday for a special Moose Monday- Guest Pup Edition post.
We moved our Guest Pup Post to Monday this month so that we could pay tribute to my Uncle Spike.
Being here at Gigi's sure does make me miss the Old Man.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Tribute To My Uncle Spike

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all my Uncle Spike passed away on Monday.

He led a full life for just over 17 years and brought so much joy to our family.

You can read all about him from when he was my first Guest Pup Post back in April.

 He will be greatly missed.

We love you Spikey Boy!

Moose Monday: Easy, Quick, & Fun Dog Treat Recipe

Happy Monday!

It's recipe time here on the blog and today we are making up something super quick and easy but still fun (and yummy)!

Zoo Friends Animal Dog Biscuits are What's Cooking today!

These treats just take 2 ingredients and you can make them in any shape and size you'd like!

We went with the Zoo Animal theme but you could use any cookie cutters you have.

See below for the full list of ingredients and instructions but here are some step by step instructions with pictures to follow along to...

Mix your selected baby food together with 1 cup of whole wheat flour

Once it forms a dough consistency, grab your rolling pin and roll out the dough to your desired thickness

Using your favorite cookie cutters, cut as many cookies as you can

Once cut, place the cut shapes onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet

Pop in the oven for about 20 minutes
After 20 minutes, turn it off (with the biscuits still in there), and let the oven completely cool.

Remove and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

4oz Jar of baby food (and fruit, vegetable or meat that is safe for us pups to eat)
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour

You can double or triple this recipe-- we doubled it and made about 15-20 treats!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Mix baby food and whole wheat flour until it forms a dough
  4. Grab your rolling pin and roll out the dough to your desired thickness
  5. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutters you would like to use
  6. Place on the baking sheet
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes--keep an eye on them depending on the thickness
  8. Turn off the oven and keep the biscuits in there until the oven is completely cool
  9. Once cooled, remove from oven and let your pup enjoy!
  10. Store leftovers at room temperature for enjoyment for days to come!

Now go grab your human and head to the kitchen to get cooking!
