Friday Favorites: 4th of July Edition

Happy 4th of July!!

(a day early)

I plan to be wearing my FAVORITE patriotic collar all weekend as we celebrate a relaxing long weekend.

Today, Friday Favorites is going to be a little different as I share with the you my FAVORITE red, white and blue activities for you and your pup!

Be sure to get out your FAVORITE flag.
And maybe your pup could even sport the red, white and blue by wearing a collar or bandanna.

You could make these yummy  white and blue pupsicles for your pup to enjoy when it gets warm outside this weekend.
They are one of my FAVORITE sweet treats!

You could go for a long walk or run and check out the happenings around your town.
I always love spending long weekends with my FAVORITE humans.
After all, that extra day off from work is an extra day of fun for me!

And lastly, be sure to keep your FAVORITE pal safe during what could be an overwhelming weekend for them.
Fireworks terrify pets! Create a safe haven for your pets in a sheltered, escape-proff part of your home with plenty of water. Also, turn on the TV to help make the fireworks with familiar sounds. Pledge to keep your pets inside on July 4th. Repin to share!
After all, more pets get lost on the July 4th weekend than any other one of the year.

Some tips to help keep us safe:

Make sure our ID tags are up to date, secure and visible

If your pup is afraid of loud noises, be sure they are inside and feel safe before the fireworks start.
Maybe even keep them distracted with a treat or toy.

Exercise us early in the day before parties begin--this way we are tired already.

Keep us away from any fireworks, sparklers, or anything that might hurt us.

Do you all have any other good tips for keeping our puppy friends safe and happy during our long weekend of fun?

Whatever you all do to celebrate this long weekend I hope it is great!!

AND

It's only fitting to remind you all that my FAVORITE week of the year starts on Sunday.

SHARK WEEK.

I'll see you on Monday for official Shark Week greetings!!

  1. Happy Fourth of July weekend, Moose and family. Thank you for posting your tips on keeping pets safe during the fireworks. If the humans stay calm it helps the pets to relax a bit too - they sense our emotions. If the pet is unusually anxious, talk to the vet about a med to make them sleepy like Benadryl. Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S. You look adorable in your shark outfit...
